Install smoke alarms

• You need at least one smoke alarm outside every sleeping area and on every level of your home.
  

Practice escape plan

• You and your family must practice your home fire drill before the emergency. Once the alarm flashes, shakes and sounds, you only have a few minutes to escape, so you must be prepared. The more you plan and practice, the more prepared you will be in an emergency.
  

Home safety survey

• Home fires are one of the main causes of home injury and death. A comprehensive home safety survey will help you become more aware of fire safety issues and help you take the necessary steps to prevent a fire from occurring.
